Pool Fence Installation — Florida Code-Compliant Pool Enclosures

Florida law (Section 515, Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act) requires every residential pool to have a code-compliant barrier. We install aluminum, PVC, and removable mesh pool fencing that passes inspection the first time — 48″ minimum height, no climbable horizontals, self-closing self-latching gates, and proper picket spacing.

Licensed · Insured · Bonded Martin County & Palm Beach County, FL

Why Homeowners and Businesses Choose Our Pool Fencing

Every installation is engineered for South Florida's salt air, hurricane wind loads, and brutal UV — not just thrown together with whatever the supplier had on the truck.

FL Section 515 Compliant

Every installation meets the Florida Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act requirements — minimum height, picket spacing under 4″, no climbable footholds, self-closing gates with latches 54″+ above grade.

Passes Inspection First Time

We coordinate the pool barrier inspection with the county directly. Our standard install passes on the first visit — we don’t leave you to chase a re-inspection.

Multiple Material Options

Aluminum (most popular), PVC, glass panel, and removable mesh. We help you choose based on aesthetic, budget, and pool deck layout.

Self-Closing, Self-Latching Gates

Pool gates use spring-loaded hinges and magnetic latches mounted 54″ above grade so children can’t operate them.

HOA-Approved Styles

We handle the HOA approval package including drawings, materials, and color samples — most communities require pre-approval before pool fencing goes in.

Optional Pool Alarms

For maximum compliance and child safety, we coordinate gate alarms and surface motion alarms with our partner low-voltage installers.

Materials, Colors & Specifications

We only install fencing built to last in Florida — marine-grade hardware, hurricane-rated assemblies, and powder-coat finishes that don't chalk out in three summers.

Aluminum Pool Fence

Powder-coated aluminum is the dominant pool fence material in Florida — won’t rust from chlorine splash, marine-grade hardware, 25+ year life.

PVC Pool Fence

Solid-vinyl picket or semi-privacy styles for pool-area privacy. Same UV-resistant material as our standard PVC line.

Glass Pool Fence

Frameless tempered glass for unobstructed pool views in upscale installs. Stainless standoffs and code-compliant gate hardware.

Stainless Hardware

Every pool fence we install gets stainless hinges, latches, and screws. No exceptions — painted hardware streaks rust into pool decks within months.

Our Installation Process

No surprises, no guesswork. Every project follows the same playbook from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.

  1. 1

    On-Site Pool Code Review

We walk the pool area, review the existing barrier (often the house counts as one wall), measure for the new fence run, and confirm gate locations.

  2. 2

    Permit & HOA

Pool fence permits are pulled separately from main building permits. We submit the HOA package as well.

  3. 3

    Material Order

Pool aluminum is typically stocked; glass and specialty colors are 2–3 weeks.

  4. 4

    Install

Posts set in concrete with stainless hardware, panels installed at minimum 48″ height, self-closing gates hung and tested.

  5. 5

    County Pool Inspection

We coordinate the inspection. Inspector verifies barrier height, picket spacing, gate self-closing function, and latch height.

Pricing & What to Expect

Pool fence projects typically run $40–$70 per linear foot installed for aluminum and PVC. Glass panel systems run $200–$400+ per linear foot. Required self-closing gates run $600–$1,200 each.

Frequently Asked Questions

What height does a pool fence have to be in Florida?+

48 inches minimum (4 feet) under Florida Section 515. The fence must be measured from grade on the side facing away from the pool.

How big can the gaps be in pool fence pickets?+

No opening can pass a 4″ sphere. Standard aluminum and PVC pool fence pickets are spaced 3 7/8″ maximum.

Do pool fences need self-closing gates?+

Yes. Florida code requires self-closing and self-latching gates with the latch a minimum of 54″ above grade (so children cannot operate it).

How much does pool fence cost?+

Aluminum and PVC pool fence run about $40–$70 per linear foot installed. Glass-panel pool fencing runs significantly higher. Use our live cost estimator for an instant ballpark.

Can a chain-link fence be used for a pool?+

Standard chain-link mesh has openings larger than the 4″ sphere requirement — it is not code-compliant for pool barriers in Florida. Aluminum, PVC, vinyl, or glass are the standard choices.

Does the house wall count as part of the pool barrier?+

In most installations, yes — if the house has properly self-closing doors with alarms (or door-window alarms). We help you map this out during the on-site visit.
