Storm Damage Fence Repair

Hurricane knocked your fence down? Tree fell across your property line? Pool barrier compromised? We respond fast, handle your insurance claim, and rebuild to a higher standard than what was there before.

After the Storm: What We Do

The Treasure Coast sits in one of the most hurricane-active corridors in the United States. Martin County, St. Lucie County, and Indian River County catch direct hits from tropical systems regularly. When that happens, we mobilize immediately to serve our community. Here\'s our post-storm process:

1

Emergency Triage

Pool fences down (child safety hazard), pet containment failures, and security breaches get priority response within 24-48 hours after the storm passes and roads are safe.

2

Damage Documentation

We photograph all damage from multiple angles, measure affected areas, and prepare a detailed written assessment that supports your insurance claim. This documentation is critical.

3

Insurance Coordination

We prepare a detailed repair estimate formatted for insurance adjusters. We work directly with your adjuster, answer technical questions, and provide any additional documentation they request.

4

Emergency Permitting

After declared emergencies, most Treasure Coast counties offer expedited fence permits. We file permits through the correct jurisdiction and coordinate expedited inspections.

5

Temporary Fencing

If your permanent fence can't be rebuilt immediately (materials on backorder, insurance pending), we install temporary fencing to maintain safety and security.

6

Rebuild to Higher Standard

We don't just put back what was there. We rebuild with deeper post footings, tighter post spacing, stainless hardware, and wind-rated construction so the new fence survives the next storm.

Insurance Claim Support

Most Florida homeowner\'s insurance policies cover fence damage from named storms under Coverage B ("Other Structures"). Here\'s what you need to know:

  • Coverage B is typically 10% of your dwelling coverage. $300,000 home = up to $30,000 for fences, sheds, and detached structures.
  • Hurricane deductible applies separately and is usually 2-5% of your insured dwelling value. This can be $6,000-$15,000 on a $300,000 policy.
  • Document before and after. Pre-storm photos (which you should take every June) and post-storm damage photos are your strongest claim evidence.
  • File early. After major storms, adjusters are overwhelmed. Early claims get processed faster.
  • We provide contractor estimates formatted for insurance adjusters: itemized materials, labor, permits, and code upgrade costs. This documentation typically results in higher settlements than homeowner-submitted claims.
